The UT Meeting & Event Planning Professional Certificate coursework is endorsed by the East Tennessee Meeting Professionals. ETMP is an organization committed to education, career development and developing business contacts for Meeting and Event Professionals in East Tennessee.

This program will be helpful to individuals working at resorts, hotel management, corporations, hospitals, nonprofit organizations and meeting venues.
Individuals working with convention and conferences, weddings, fundraisers, sporting events, fairs and social functions.
Anyone seeking a comprehensive introduction to the field of meeting and event planning.
Individuals working in related fields such as catering, hospitality, lighting and audio/visual sound.
Meeting & Event Planning Basics (10-week course)
Contracts for Event Planners (6 classroom hours)
Meeting and Event Planning Budgeting (6 classroom hours)
Electives (choose two):
Food & Beverage (6 classroom hours)
Site Selection (6 classroom hours)
Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) Preparation Course (6 classroom hours)
You also must obtain three hours of fieldwork experience and complete a planning project. (Note: You must be enrolled or have completed Meeting & Event Planning Basics prior to taking any other course.)
